Starting my Camera Script

Sorry for the delay on updating you about how I've been getting on with writing up my camera script, it's been a hectic few days! Last week, after listening to the song 'Caught Me Cold' by the band we are making a music promotional video for, Rangoon Sons, I started on writing up a shot for the acoustic performance we will be recording in the TV Studio.
The song is off their EP 'Come Back Home' and has a upbeat and Indie feel to the track which basically sums up the band's overall sound. The band chose this song themselves to perform acoustically in the studio, for reasons I am not fully aware of but I actually enjoyed listening to the track over and over again whilst writing up the shot list, even though I wouldn't usually listen to Indie music on a regular basis. Whilst carefully listening to the lyrics I found it relatively easy to think of shots that would best fit the upbeat rhythm of the song
. For example when the lead singer, Mike is singing alone, I found it necessary not only to use close-ups and extreme close-ups on his mouth to the microphone, but also to use medium close-ups of Mike's hand on the guitar to add a bit of variety to the shots rather than a string of close-ups, long shots and pans to the singers' faces. To get a bit of inspiration for how an acoustic performance is best shot, I browsed through a range of YouTube videos such as 'Tracy Chapman - Fast Car (Boyce Avenue feat. Kina Grannis acoustic cover', 'Don't You Worry Child - Swedish House Mafia - Official Acoustic Music Video - Madilyn Bailey' & 'The Lumineers - Ho Hey (Acoustic) | Performance | On Air With Ryan Seacrest', all of which I managed to get a few shot ideas from. Extreme close ups of hands on drumkits for example work effectively during the instrumental segments and profile shots seem to work best when only one member of the band is singing for a certain part of the song as it puts the viewers focus on that person only.
I managed to complete around 80% of my shot list over the weekend which leaves me with just a couple areas such as the chorus and one other instrumental section to finish off before the end of the week in preparation for next Friday's performance. It is important that I also have this shot list finished before the end of the week so my fellow group members who are operating the cameras can familiarise themselves with the shots that relate to the particular camera they are operating.
